Jazz saxophonist Perry Richard will be the featured performer at a fundraiser for the Orange African-American Museum. The event, A Night of Jazz, will be Saturday, October 27, from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Orange VFW on Highway 87 North.
Richard is a native of Orange and is now based in Houston. Henry Lowe, founder of the local history museum, told the Orange City Council music legend Barbara Lynn of Beaumont has been invited as a guest, but not to perform.
The fundraiser will help renovate the donated museum building on West Park Avenue. Tickets are $100 for a sponsor table and $15 each. Reservations and tickets are available through Lowe at 409-221-1339, or 409-221-7989.
