At approximately 6:15a.m. Friday, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Orange near the 16th Street intersection. The crash occurred near mile marker 877.
Preliminary reports indicate that a Toyota Camry and a Kenwood truck tractor semi-trailer were traveling westbound on Interstate 10 followed by a Chevrolet Trailblazer. The driver of the Toyota and the driver of the 18-wheeler slowed, due to traffic congestion, when both vehicles were rear-ended by the Chevrolet. Upon impact, both passenger vehicles caught fire and were fully engulfed when local fire departments arrived.
Incredibly there were no injuries reported in this crash.
All westbound traffic lanes of Interstate 10 were closed for approximately three hours, but have since reopened to traffic.
