Hurricane Rita started this chain of weather events we’ve been having 13 years ago today. It reached Cat 5 strength before hitting Texas/Louisiana as a Cat 3. Fortunately many evacuated although the evacuation was no parade for most. It took as long as three weeks for many to have power restored to their home. The landscape of Orange County changed as reports of tree damage reached 70%. These are just some of the pictures that show Rita’s devastation.
