David Cagle, Orange County Constable in Precinct 2, passed away Sunday. He was 57.
Cagle was reportedly working outside at his home in Mauriceville when he was found by a family member. He was transported to a Beaumont hospital where he died of an apparent heart attack.
He has been constable since 2012. He won re-election in 2016, defeating challenger Jeremiah Gunter.
He is survived by his wife Kathy and five children. He has a brother Tim, and his brother Steve is also in law enforcement. He works for the Bridge City Police Department.
