Burglaries and thefts continued in rural Orange County during the week of August 20-27, but the sheriff’s office was also busy with complaints of disturbances and assaults. The arguments and assaults were mostly in the Vidor and Little Cypress areas. Deputies also investigated a case of injury to the elderly.

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, 3:56 p.m. August 20, Waterford Way in Vidor.
Death investigation, 7:39 p.m. August 20. Woman’s body found in North Orange County near Indian Lake Road. She had been reported missing after she left walking to meet people at the river. No foul play was suspected.
