
A Beaumont man was seriously injured Saturday night about 11:15 when the SUV he was driving on DuPont Drive veered off and hit a mailbox and then a tree.
The Orange police officer who investigated the crash thinks a passenger was also seriously injured but left before police arrived. The officer said the amount of blood in the passenger seat led him to the think the passenger was injured and had not worn a seat belt.
The driver was 42-year-old Adam Revia of Beaumont. He was taken by Acadian Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. His injuries were described as incapacitating.
Police reported Revia was driving a Chevrolet Equinox northbound on DuPont Drive. The SUV left the roadway in the 1400 block and hit the mailbox. The vehicle traveled through another yard and then hit a tree.
Two people were injured at 2:30 a.m. Friday when a pickup truck ran off Highway 62 South and hit a utility pole. Orange police report 31-year-old Heather Peppas Melancon of Silsbee was driving a Dodge Ram 1500 truck northbound. The truck left the roadway and hit a pole on the south side. Meloncon and her passenger, 35-year-old Kristopher James Montalvo, were taken by Acadian Ambulance to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas with non-incapacitating injuries.
On Friday morning, a Buick LaCrosse hit a highway sign and went into a ditch off the Interstate 10 access road by Martin Lutcher King Jr. Drive. The 72-year-old woman from Orange who was driving told Orange police she blacked out.
The collision was about 11:15 a.m. Friday. The sedan was traveling north on MLK Drive and then turned left onto the access road before hitting the sign. Police reported the woman had no signs of intoxication. She refused medical treatment at the scene.
