Tuesday night is the first of four nights that 16th Street at the Interstate 10 overpass will be closed. The hours are 8 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The Texas Department of Transportation is closing the section for overpass construction.
People traveling north will need to turn east on the frontage road and go to Simmons Drive, go under that overpass, and turn back on the westbound frontage road. Then they will be able to turn north onto 16th.
Southbound drivers will turn onto the westbound frontage road, go under the interstate at the Adams Bayou turnaround, and then travel back to 16th street on the eastbound frontage road.
