A young man who was killed in Austin last week will have funeral services in Bridge City on Thursday.
32-year-old Christian Meroney died outside his South Austin apartment after being shot on July 9.
His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Bridge City. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Orange.
Survivors include his mother, Becky Meroney and her husband, Jimmy Croaker of Orange.
Austin police have arrested and charged 29-year-old Charles Curry, who lived six doors down from Meroney, with murder. Curry is also facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a 30-minute shooting spree across the city on July 10. Two women were injured as a man randomly shot a vehicles. He is in the Travis County Jail for a total of $3.25 million bond.
