
Orange police Sunday afternoon chased and caught a shoplifter who took a Yeti cooler from Childs Ace Hardware. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the man grabbed the cooler, worth more than $200, ran out of the store, and got into a vehicle.
Police ended up catching the man at the dead end of Gus Lane off FM 1078. Enmon said 34-year-old Douglas Anthony Lee of Vidor was arrested for theft.
Saturday afternoon, Orange police went to the 2200 block of Link Avenue to investigate a burglary. The resident said he had been gone and when he returned, he saw the back door open. Several items from inside were missing.
A man living in the 500 block of Morrell Boulevard ended up with a broken windshield and passenger window after a group of males threw rocks at his parked Dodge Charger. He called Orange police at 7:11 p.m. Sunday to report the damage. He told officers he saw the group throwing bricks or rocks at the car. Police reported finding a rock on the car and one inside on the passenger seat.
