The City of West Orange should have a new member on the City Council as of Monday afternoon. An appointment to fill a vacant position on the council will be made at the meeting on Monday.
Mayor Roy McDonald has contacted at least four people whose names were given to him by members of the City Council as possibilities to replace Carl Thibodeaux on the council. Thibodeaux was forced by municipal statutes to resign from the City Council in June when he accepted the appointment to be the Municipal Judge of West Orange.
McDonald has promised he will have a name for consideration to replace Thibodeaux at Monday’s meeting of the City Council. The meeting’s agenda includes the swearing in of the new member to the council. The West Orange City Council meets Monday at 5:00 PM in the West Orange Community Center behind the City Hall.
