A homeowner in rural Little Cypress Sunday morning held a man in his house at gunpoint and called the sheriff’s office about a burglary. But the suspected burglar turned out to be a worker for a contractor.
Orange County Sheriff’s Investigations Captain Cliff Hargrave said that kind of call has not been unusual during the past few months. As people rebuild after Tropical Storm Harvey flooded nearly 28,000 houses in Orange County, homeowners sometimes mistake workers for criminals.
The call came at 9:43 a.m. Sunday to a house on Hidden Meadows Drive. Captain Hargrave said deputies did not arrest the suspected burglar.
