Jimmie Baker, 87, of West Orange, Texas, passed away on June 10, 2018, in Beaumont, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Randy Branch, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Big Spring, Texas, on July 27, 1930, she was the daughter of Morris Sheppard Mills and Cecil Maude (McCorkle) Mills. She attended Highland Park High, Lutcher-Stark High, Sam Houston State University and was a resident of Orange for 65 years. Jimmie was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She spent her free time volunteering for Christian Outreach and Orange Memorial Hospital. Jimmie loved afternoon coffee time with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors, wildlife, fishing, and camping. Her favorite pastimes were watching sports, especially basketball, Mollie B Polka Party, and Wheel of Fortune. Jimmie had a lifetime devotion to her beloved pets. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Cecil Mills; and her loving husband of 67 years, Dell Prentis Baker.
She is survived by her children, Janet and Randy Dunahoo of Frisco, Texas, Diana Baker of Austin, Texas, and Joe and Mitzie Baker of Beaumont, Texas; and her 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Isaac Henry, Bob Henry, Brett Baker, Drew Dupree, Jonathan Allen, Shawn Wheeler, and Jay Davis.
The family would like to acknowledge the doctors and staff of Harbor Hospice in Beaumont for the remarkable care their loving mother received.

Jimmie and Prentice were my parents long time Neiggbors and friends. I loved going over to their house and playing with Janet, Diana, and Joe. They were the sweetest and kindest people.
