
Evelyn Adams, age 90 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in Orange, Texas. Services to honor Evelyn’s life will be held at 2:00 PM with family gathering an hour prior, on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Corsicana, Texas with Paul Masters officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Dorman Funeral Home.
Evelyn was born on July 10, 1927 in Corsicana, Texas to Ethel McElrory Fultz and Sammie Fultz, where she was the oldest of six girls. She was a homemaker for many years and then after the death of her husband she occupied her time working at the Thrift & Gift until she was 86 years old. Evelyn was a member of the West Orange Church of Christ and she was known as the “Butterfly Lady” to everyone. She always liked to stay busy with her hands, whether she was making beautiful quilts, crocheting, doing needle point, embroidering or flower gardening. Evelyn was an exceptional cook, and loved preparing delicious meals for family and friends.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, William D. Adams, her parents Sammie Fultz and Ethel Fultz Taylor, daughter Carolyn Brackeen, granddaughter Brittany Johnson and two sisters Martha McDonald and Jessie McDaniel.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Debora Masters and her husband Paul of Orangefield, TX and Darlene Johnson and her husband Greg of Vidor, TX and her son-in-law Billy Brackeen. Three sisters; Billie McNeal of Corsicana, TX, Wanda Neeley of Rockwall, TX and Earlene Slaughter and her husband Don of Corsicana, TX. Eight grandchildren; April Haynes and her husband Thomas of Vidor, TX, Stormi Gardner and her husband Blake of Sylacauga, AL, Jaycee Johnson of Vidor, TX, Ragan Johnson of Vidor, TX, Tim Brackeen of Corsicana, TX, Jana Duke and her husband Chester of Corsicana, TX, Billy D. Brackeen and his wife Tisha of Corsicana, TX and Steven Brackeen of Corsicana, TX. Fourteen great grandchildren; Josh Haynes, Justin Haynes, Skylar Compton, Shyanne Nelson, Wyatt Compton, Priscilla Haynes, Jackson Cash Gardner, Maddyn Davis, Timmy Brackeen, Kristy Warren, Savannah Brackeen, Ericka Perry, Katie Ciseros, Kinner Chavez, Presley Nelson and Quentin Haynes. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice, The Meadows, and Oak Grove Nursing Home for the wonderful care and compassion that Evelyn received during the sunset of her life from the nurses and aids.

It is Saturday night and we just found out about your Mom. She was a bright, lovely light in this world. We thank God for her example. She was so easy to love.
