
Ruthie Edwards, 60, of Orangefield, passed away on June 2, 2018, in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Glen Prince. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be prior to the service, starting at 1:00 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Orange, Texas on October 20, 1957, she was the daughter of Tommy Lee Anderson and Beverly (Mathews) Anderson. Ruthie was a faithful member of Community Christian Church. She was an amazing cook, enjoyed sewing, reading, and making jewelry. Ruthie was a big Dallas Cowboy’s fan. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Lee Anderson.
She is survived by her mother, Beverly Mathews Anderson; children, Jaclyn Moore and husband Frank of Orangefield, Adam Anderson and wife Heather of Orangefield, Abby Edwards of Orange, and Jacob Edwards and wife Morgan of Magnolia; grandchildren, Shelton Moore, Lucas Moore, Madison Moore, Logan Anderson, Lily Anderson, and Jade Edwards; siblings, Tommy Anderson and wife Amy of Orange, Bobby Anderson and wife Trisha of Orange, Andy Anderson and wife Cris of Bridge City, Jeffery Anderson and wife Darlene of Orange, and Anna Killian and husband Bill of Orange; along with numerous other family members.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Anderson, Andy Anderson, Bobby Anderson, Frank Moore, Shelton Moore, and Lucas Moore. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Logan Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the ALS Association at www.alsa.org or the Gift Processing Center at PO Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037.
Ruthie and I were friends when our children were young, but lost touch thru the years. I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for all.

I lost my husband to ALS in October 2017. I know first hand what a terrible disease ALS is. We need a cure!!! I’m so sorry for your loss. Ruthie is walking in heaven now and talking a blue streak to Jesus. God bless all of you who mourn.

So sorry to hear about the death of your precious daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. Beverly I dated Jimmy while I was in high school. I remember Ruthie had a sweet soul who loved everyone. I know this has to be heartbreaking but know she is now pain free. Prayers for healing and may God lift you up to get through this sad time.
In ones lifetime, if you are blessed, you have had the pleasure of knowing an angel like Ruthie. I will always remember her beautiful face and kind spirit. Thank you for enriching my life.
