At approximately 3:45p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) received a report of a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 10, near FM 1135, in Orange County.
Preliminary reports indicate that a Saturn passenger vehicle was disabled on the eastbound frontage road of Interstate 10. A Good Samaritan, driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck, pulled in front of the Saturn to assist. The driver of the Ford got out of his vehicle to attach a tow chain to the Saturn when the Saturn was rear-ended by a Ford F-250 pickup truck.
The driver and passenger of the Saturn were both transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries.

The passenger in the Saturn, a minor child, was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Rodney Price at the scene.
The Good Samaritan, a 46-year-old male from Orange, was also pronounced deceased by Judge Price at the crash scene.
The names of the deceased will not be released until family members have been notified.
All information is preliminary as Troopers work to determine the exact factors that contributed to this fatal crash.
At this time, there are no additional details to be released.

Good morning???? I wish someone would talk @ North end of 62, putting a turning lane in. How many accidents & deaths is it gonna take before someone has a bright idea.
I live on 62 N. & 98% of the time, if I’m headed in two Rd Mauriceville, I’m scared to try to turn in my driveway. Even watched my 6 yr. Old god child get killed right there.
Can someone help the residents save some lives?
