
Oscar Almendarez, Sr., age 63, was born in Laredo, Texas and passed away on May 9, 2018.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Navarro Almendarez, his children, Rudy and Karina Dominguez, Hermenegildo “Red” Almendarez, Oscar “Panther” Almendarez , Jr. , Sandra Almendarez-Rodriguez and husband Blas, Daniel Almendarez, Oscar Alex Almendarez, Daniel and Sonia Perez, and Mark Anthony and Michelle Perez, along with 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Matias “Willie” Almendarez and sister, Carmen and husband, Gabriel Castillo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hermenegildo Almendarez and Herminia Garcia Almendarez and three brothers.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from Noon until time of the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. The visitation and funeral service will be held at Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 West Fourth Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Interment to follow at Riley Smith Memorial Park, DeQuincy, Louisiana.
We are so sad to see this. He was a great a man and A FANTASTIC CARPENTER! He will be fondly remembered by our family. Our sincere condolences to his family.

Oscar was a Craftsman in every sense of the word. He and Richard preformed a miracle on our home after Hurricane Harvey. He was honest and hardworking. He was a fine Christian Gentlemen. You have our eternal thank you.
