The Orange City Council on Tuesday will vote on whether to have a private contractor run the sewage treatment plant for the next five years.
The council had a workshop in April about the proposal to have Inframark LLC run the plant. The first year will cost the city $876,000, about the same as what the city pays normally.
Four of the sewage treatment plant employees will be offered jobs with Inframark. Three other positions have been held vacant after retirements.
The city will still operate the water plant and will maintain the sewer lines and sewer lift station.
The council meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Council Auditorium, next to the Orange Public Library.
The agenda includes a closed-door executive session with legal advice on a possible lawsuit involving the city’s tow truck ordinances.
