
Kasey Frederick of Nicholls State was named to the First Team All-Southland Conference and Taylor Fraccastoro of SFA was named Second Team catcher.
Frederick, the junior from Bridge City, leads her team with a .371 average (fourth in the SLC) and she’s first on the team in RBI’s with 40. It’s her second straight year to be a first team selection.
Fraccastoro, a senior from LCM, leads the Lady Jacks in homeruns, slugging percentage and extra base hits. Behind the dish, Fraccastoro has thrown out 12 base runners attempting to steal for the fourth-most in the Southland, while owning a team-best 283 putouts and 32 assists on 319 total chances for a fielding percentage of .987.
Nicholls State and SFA are 1-2 going into the Southland Conference Tournament which begins May 8 in Lake Charles.
