Schools, crawfish and a tavern were the cleanest food service businesses during the recent Orange County health inspections. Inspector James Scales handed out six perfect scores with four going to schools.
The worst score was a 79 for the Petromart at 12099 FM 1442. The store was formerly Crawdad’s. During his April 10 visit, Scales reported the “restrooms need to be cleaned and sanitized immediately.” He said he found a vehicle tire in the store room and mold on the drink dispensers and in the ice machine. Bird feces were on the concrete at the front door and spider webs were on the ceiling. He gave the store 10 days to remove old gas pumps and an old front door that were stored on the side of the building.
