At approximately 4:00a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to an auto-pedestrian crash on Highway 62 in Orange County. The crash occurred near Daily Road.Initial reports indicate that a Toyota Tundra pickup truck was traveling southbound on Highway 62. A pedestrian was walking southbound near the roadway when he was struck by the pickup truck.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Hershel Stagner at the scene. At this time, Troopers are working to positively identify the deceased victim.
The driver of the Toyota pickup truck, a 28-year-old male from Lumberton, was not injured in the crash.
