Mrs. Joyce Ann Chapman passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, at her residence in the Scrappin’ Valley community at the age of 75.
She was born June 20, 1942, in Oakdale, Louisiana, to parents Emery E. and Mandy P. Markle. A former longtime resident of Orange, Texas, Mrs. Chapman was a resident of Sabine County, Texas, in recent years and retired from Wal*Mart after 13 years of dedicated service.
A faithful member of Yellowpine-Macedonia Baptist Church, Joyce had a great love for God and her family. She enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing.
Joyce and John Leslie Chapman were married April 15, 1960, in Orange, Texas, and enjoyed 58 years together.
In addition to her husband, John, her survivors include son, John W. Chapman of Somerville, Texas; daughter, Deborah Chapman of Mineola, Texas; son, Roger Chapman and wife Karen of Sabine County, Texas; daughter, Jeanna Baker and husband Kenny of Diboll, Texas; son, Paul Chapman and wife Shae of Big Springs, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery Markle and Mandy (Dunn) Markle; brothers, William “Bill” Markle and Ted Markle; and her sister, Rosella Jackson.
Services honoring her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Forest Oaks Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper, Texas. Committal services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at The Cemetery of Mauriceville, located on FM 1130 in Mauriceville, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018, at Forest Oaks Chapel.
Pallbeares will be L.T. Markle, Chris Istre, L.W. Chapman, Terrence Bell, Kenny Baker, Hunter Duhon, Adam Chapman, and Leslie Chapman.
