My heart is so sad to hear this..My name is Sue..me and Shirley ran Corner Carwash..we loved Ms Hazel..she gave me and Shirley each a quilt she made as a retirement gift! Mine is on my bed and has been since she gave it to me almost 2 years ago! She was such a sweet lady! Prayers of comfort to Ms Hazels’ family!
Have to correct myself on this post..Ms Hazel didn’t make quilts and give me and Shirley..that was another customer of ours..Ms Hazel, brought us wonderful warm teacakes straight from her oven! We loved just visiting with her, but sometimes, she would just drive up and bring us teacakes! So very thoughtful..she also wrote the recipe and gave us..Ma Spurgeon Teacakes!
I grew up at McDonald Baptist Church…Rayford and Hazel Spurgeon were two of the kindest people. Mrs. Hazel will be truly missed. Prayers for the family.
