John William Shaver, Sr., 60, of Orange, TX died Friday, March 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Silsbee, TX and was a longtime resident of Orange who enjoyed fishing and hunting but he especially loved to spend quality time with his grandchildren. He was an entrepreneur and owned Shaver Mortuary Transportation Service in Orange for many years until his health deteriorated. He was also an EMT for the Orange County Ambulance Service for 12 years. A memorial gathering will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. John is survived by his wife Dawn Pennington-Shaver of 13 years, 2 sons; John W. Shaver, Jr., and his wife Heather of Beaumont, TX and Will J. Shaver, of Nederland, TX, 4 daughters; Heather James and her husband Joseph of Lake Mary, FL, Tera Ray Shaver and her fiancee’ Brent Roper of Orangefield, TX, Bonnie Shaver of Nederland,TX and Jennifer Shaver of Mauriceville, TX. 2- Step Children; Santana and Warren Smith He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 1 sister; Donna Willis and her husband Jerrel of Lake Sam Rayburn, TX, 2 brothers; James Earl Shaver and his wife Diane of Orange, and Carl Edward Shaver also of Orange. John was preceded in death by his parents; William Lawrence and Daisy Lavon (Lowe) Shaver, 1 brother; Gary Cole, and 1 sister; Gloria Mae Kane.
