St. Mary Catholic School is proud to announce that Maggie Granger, an eighth grade student, has been awarded a scholarship from Glassell Junior School of Art. Glassell is a teaching institute in the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas. They offer studio art courses for students from age three to eighteen. Their distinguished Core Residency Programs are for postgraduate artists and critics. The curriculum covers the foundation of what it means to be involved in visual arts.
Maggie’s art and the art of other eighth grade students were exhibited through the Youth Art Program for the entire duration of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The students were accompanied to the show by their Art Teacher, Mrs. Cindy Claybar.
