Trina Bronson of Jasper was taken by medical helicopter to a Beaumont hospital after the dually pickup truck she was driving was hit by an 18-wheel truck rig, driven by 56 year old Jerry Walker of Shreveport.
The collision was about noon Monday on Highway 87 North by Little Cypress Drive. The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken by ambulance to a Beaumont hospital. They are reported in stable condition this afternoon.
Orange police said the 25 year old woman was driving a Ford F-350 dually southbound on Highway 87. Ahead of the truck was a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck.
The Chevrolet was preparing to turn westward onto Little Cypress Drive and the Ford was passing on the shoulder. Police said when the Chevrolet turned, the dually clipped the truck.
The impact slung the Ford into the direct path of the 18-wheeler, which was traveling northbound. Orange police are continuing to investigate the collision.
The 38 year old driver of the Chevrolet refused treatment at the scene.
