Orange County Elections Administrator Tina Barrow is concerned about false information being spread about local early voting.
She said people have been sending her printed materials, including one that appears to be from a magazine. One source wrongly says the Bridge City early voting site will not be open on the week beginning February 26 (Monday). Another incorrectly says early voting sites will be open on Sunday.
A slick color page is from Republican Terry Lowry in Houston. He hosts a radio show, “What’s Up Radio Program,” on Christian stations in Houston and Austin. In addition, he has the Link Letter magazine. The page featuring Orange County, Texas, says early voting is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. That is wrong information.
The early voting hours for Orange County Republican and Democratic primaries are the same for all four sites:
Saturday February 24: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Closed on Sunday, February 25.
Monday, February 26: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday, February 27: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Wednesday February 28-Friday March 2: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The sites are the Orange Public Library, Bridge City Public Works Building, Mauriceville Volunteer Fire Department, and Raymond Gould Community Center in Vidor.
Election Day is Tuesday, March 6. Voters that day must go to their assigned boxes based on address.
