Another 16th Street business in Orange was hit by burglars on Wednesday night. Employees of Martha’s Seafood (formerly Crystal Seafood) arrived at work Thursday to discover the glass front door had been smashed and the cash register stolen.
The seafood restaurant is at 1609 16th Street next door to the Donut Hole, which had a similar break-in on the night of February 8, six days earlier.
Saturday morning at 1:30, police went to the former Diamond Shamrock station, 3900 16th Street when an alarm had sounded. No one was at the store when police arrived, but the store had a video of a man smashing the door and grabbing the cash register.
On Tuesday night, the Donut Palace, 5603 16th Street at Allie Payne Road, had the same kind of burglary.
During the past three months, several businesses on 16th Street have been struck by burglars with the same style.
