Orangefield began their tennis season with a great showing from mixed doubles’ team, Christie Luong and Luke Truncale at the South Park varsity tournament. The pair advanced to the finals after wins over Kountze and Bridge City. It took a super tiebreaker to defeat Nederland in the final match. After a 5-7 loss, Luong and Truncale won the second set 6-4. They went on to win the tiebreaker 10-4.
Girls’ singles also experienced some success. Both Jennifer Swift and Megan Ibeck advanced to the semifinals in the singles’ bracket.
The Bobcats will participate in the Lamar University High School Invitational next week.
