The Orange City Council paid tribute to enterprising youth during a meeting this week. Mayor Pro Tem Larry Spears invited three girls, 14-year-old Nia Hodges, 14-year-old Nia Lewis and 10-year-old London Stroud to talk to the council about their endeavors.
London Stroud started her company, London Lane, when she was 8 years old. She designs and paints craft signs and decor to sell. Her crafts can be seen at Art in the Park and other community events.
Nia Hodges has been baking for several years and started taking orders for cookies and other goodies. She formed Nia’s Treats to sell her baked goods.
Nia Lewis started Teens Make a Difference, a group that is taking on community service projects. The group now includes Jayson Zeigler, Azia Walker, and De’Marion Mouton. The three also attended the council meeting with Lewis.
