
Spring has brought growing grass and the lawn equipment thieves have started. Orange police said a burglary of an outside shed at a house in the 4300 block of 27th street was reported on Friday. The resident the shed’s door was forced open. Lawn equipment and tools were stolen.

A 3-year-old boy was taken by ambulance to a Beaumont hospital after the car he was riding in went into a ditch on Main Avenue Sunday morning. Orange police report his injuries are not serious and he was secured in a child booster seat.
Police said the accident was at 9:50 a.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of Main. A Chevrolet Cavalier driven by a 23-year-old woman from Orange was traveling westbound on Main. She left the roadway into a ditch on the northside of the roadway. The car then crossed a driveway at Sabine River Ford used car lot and went back into the ditch where it came to a rest.
The driver and a 1-year-old boy passenger, who was also in a secure seat, were not injured. Police reported the woman was given a ticked for failure to maintain a single lane.
