Buddy was born on Tuesday, April 12, 1938, in Applebee, Texas, to Jessie (Hardy) and Milburn Green. In 1955, Buddy became a resident of Deweyville, Texas, where he and his loving wife of 60 years, Ruth (Woodard), raised their beautiful family. Buddy was a devout Christian man and an active member of the First Baptist Church-Deweyville. He was a hardworking man, who worked as a Millrite and retired from Cain Chemical. In his spare time, Buddy enjoyed deer and hog hunting with his family, where he made sure everyone had their lucky pickle before the big hunt, fishing, and traveling. He was a true outdoorsman that enjoyed tending to his geese, chickens, and goats, and having storage wars with his granddaughter, Ashley. Buddy loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who knew him as their “Pop”, and was famous for his brisket at their family gatherings. He was a kind and loving man, who never met a stranger and greeted everyone with a smile. Buddy was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who will be missed by all those who knew him.
Preceding Buddy in death are his parents; sister, Marjorie Green; and brothers, Red Green and Joe Green.
Those who will cherish Buddy’s memory most are his wife, Ruth Green; sons, Allen Green and his wife, Laura, and Loren Green; brothers Raymond Green, Troy Green, and Earl Green; sister, Emma Jean Gengo; Grandchildren, Tabitha Tynes and her husband, Jeremy, Ashley Green, Stephanie Green and husband, Austin Jolly, and Kami Green Godeaux and her husband, Casey; and great-grandchildren, Judd, Gauge, Kace, and Kynsleigh.
