On March 8, 2017 at 12:08 P. M., City of Orange police officers were dispatched to the intersection of 10th St. and Rein Ave. in reference to a person shot. Officers arrived and located Centarius Chavis, 24, on the ground with a single gunshot wound to his left shoulder. Chavis was awake and responding to officers. Acadian ambulance responded and transported Chavis to a local hospital in Beaumont. Chavis was later released from medical treatment. Several persons of interest were identified and detectives are investigating all information gathered.
