Orange police Wednesday morning arrested a student at Little Cypress Intermediate School for aggravated assault on a public servant in connection with injuring principal Michael Ridout.
The school on Allie Payne Road is for fourth and fifth grade students. Lt. G.D. Keaton reported he went to the school at 7:45 a.m. He said Ridout’s injuries were minor and he photographed them.
The student was taken to the Orange Police Department for an interview and then turned over to the Orange County Juvenile Probation Department. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the student was taken to a juvenile detention center. He said he could not discuss the assault because of a juvenile being involved.
Sherry Combs, spokeswoman for the Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD, said the district could not comment because the case is with a juvenile.
