A Roselawn man checking a noise outside was shot in the chest with a BB gun early Tuesday morning. Orange police said the man had a small abrasion wound but he did not seek medical attention.
It was the third time a BB or pellet gun has been used on Camellia Street during the past few days. In one, a parked car had shattered driver’s window caused by the puncture. Another car was damaged by what appeared to be a BB or pellet gun.
The man who was shot also lives on Camellia. He called Orange police at 2:26 a.m. He told officers he was watching TV and heard something outside. He opened the door and was hit in the chest. He didn’t see anyone.
Detective Captain Robert Enmon said it’s often hard to find someone causing vandalism with a BB gun, but people should call police anyway. “You never know. You may have an officer around the corner and they can catch them.”
