Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD trustee David Jones has announced he is not running for re-election this year. Jones holds the Position 2 seat on the LC-M board. So far for the May 6 election, incumbent Marlene Courmier is the only candidate to file for the board. She is running for re-election to Position 3. The other seat up for election this year is Position 1 held by Randy McIlwain.
For the West Orange City Council, longtime mayor Roy McDonald is the only candidate to file for the election.
Filing for city councils and school boards will continue until Friday, February 17. Candidates may file during regular business hours for city races in the office of city secretaries. For school boards, candidates file through the superintendents’ offices.
