
A man was arrested early Saturday morning after kicking in large window at a Green Avenue business. Orange police report the man cut his leg and had to be taken to the hospital emergency room for stitches before being taken to jail.
Officer D.B. Mulhollan reported an alarm sounded about 1 a.m. Saturday at 1107 W. Green Avenue, which is owned by Mike Zeto and also houses the law office of Christine Brown-Zeto.
Lieutenant Jimbo Davis arrested a man for what he thought was a burglary in progress. However, the man told police he was intoxicated and didn’t know why he kicked the window.
Officer Mulhollan said the man had blood on his legs and feet, along with two cuts on his right leg.
John Cecil Derby of Orange was arrested for Class B misdemeanor criminal mischief. The owner of the building said the window was worth $500.

Orange police are looking for a man who broke into a house and sexually assaulted a woman Monday morning. Police had a 9-1-1 call at 7:42 a.m. to a house on Byley Boulevard, which is west of 16th Street in an area behind the Taco Bell block.
Acadian Ambulance took the woman to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment. Police have not released a description of the suspect.

Police went to the apartments on Cove Drive Saturday morning to investigate a strong arm robbery in which a cell phone was stolen. A friend of the woman called 9-1-1 after he arrived to take her to work. He heard a struggle inside and her yelling for help.
Police said the call came at 6:54 a.m. The woman said she was leaving her apartment and was ambushed by a man she knows. The man pushed her back inside the apartment and began punching her.
She had called the friend to ask for a ride to work. The friend said the assailant ran away after he called police. The woman told officers she would get medical treatment for her injuries on her own and did not need an ambulance.

Also Saturday morning, police were called to the Oakwood Village apartments on 37th Street after someone in the parking lot reported a burglary.
The witness called at 8:30 a.m. to report seeing a van back up to a building and two men ran out and up stairs. The witness saw the building shake and believed the men were breaking into an apartment. However, the man was not able to see whether the men put anything into the van.
Police reported finding the front door of an apartment was damaged and open. It appeared a TV had been stolen out of the apartment.
The van was reported as white and either a Dodge or Chrysler. The drive was described as black, about 40 to 50 years of age with a thin build.
