Max L. Julian Dill, formerly of Orange, TX, died November 2, 2016 in Rockwall, TX
of congestive heart failure.
Julian was born in Port Arthur, TX on June 11, 1939 to John and Verneal Augusta Dill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Tessie White; brother, Gene Hunt; nephew,
Miles Hunt; and son, Terry Dill.
Julian is survived by his wife, Amy Dill, of 54 years and a daughter and son.
He leaves a brother, James Henry, a much revered sister-in- law, Jimmie Hunt and a host of precious
nieces and nephews.
Julian was a 1959 graduate of Lutcher Stark High School He was active in the school band and football.
Julian joined the U.S. Army shortly after high school graduation. He served actively and honorably both
within the United States and Germany. He left the Army to return home to Orange, Tx. He began his
work career with the Firestone Chemical Company. Julian also joined the Texas National Guard and
served until he was offered employment with the IBM Corporation. He relocated to Nashville, TN with
IBM and eventually joined the United States Army Reserves.
Julian retired from IBM in 2006 after 38 years of service with the company. He retired from the United
States Army Reserves with the rank of Major in 1999 after having served as a Reservist for 25 years.
Burial will be by cremation provided by Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. Interment will
be at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery. A memorial service is planned for early spring.
