
At approximately 2:00p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of US 69 and FM 1003 in Hardin County. A Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound in the outside traffic lane on US 69. A Dodge passenger vehicle was traveling northbound on US 69. The driver of the Dodge made a left turn into the crossover, failed to yield and pulled out in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle slammed into the passenger-side of the Dodge and was thrown from his bike. The driver of the motorcycle, 52-year-old David Funkle of Vidor, was transported by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth hospital with several broken bones. His injuries did not appear to be life threatening. Funkle was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The driver of the Dodge passenger vehicle, 50-year-old Kelley Foxworth of Warren, and her two passengers were not injured. Foxworth was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield the right of way at a yield intersection.
