A ribbon cutting ceremony Friday morning officially opened a unique playground in Orange. Stay and Play is located at the Little Cypress Intermediate School campus on Allie Payne Road.
The ceremony marked the conclusion of Stage 2 for the specially equipped playground which has been a four-year project for coordinator Kelly Meadows the director of health services with the Little Cypress-Mauriceville School District. She is excited about it being open for the kids to use and enjoy. “We have our all inclusive specially selected playground components installed with our poured rubberized surface and we’re ready to play,” Meadows exclaimed.
Stage 3 of the Stay and Play playground is already in the works. It will include installation of a covered pavilion over the playground, hooking up security cameras, and the placing of recognition signs thanking the many sponsors that have contributed to Stay and Play.
