Vidor police took Aaron Kyle Angelo into custody Friday afternoon for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle according to Vidor Chief of Police Dave Shows. The vehicle taken was a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck that was missing from the scene of a double murder last June in Vidor. Richard Glen Ames, age 84, and Edna Clary Phillips, age 85, were brutally killed in a home at 360 Timberlane on June 11. The truck was later recovered in Houston after it was involved in a one vehicle accident. DNA evidence was collected from the vehicle by the crime lab in Houston. Chief Shows said the analyzed results of the DNA samples taken from the truck conclusively link Angelo, age 41, to the vehicle. Angelo is a stepson of Richard Ames. Shows indicated the investigation into the double murder continues.
