A house was destroyed by fire Friday night in Mauriceville but the family was not home at the time.
Firefighters from the Orange County Emergency Services District No. 4 went to the 4300 block of Woodland Drive at 11 p.m. When they arrived the house was fully engulfed.
The Little Cypress Volunteer Fire Department from Emergency Services District No. 3 went to help the Mauriceville fire department extinguish the fire.
