A 67-year-old man from Little Cypress will spend 25 years in state prison without parole after pleading guilty to continuous sexual abuse of a young child. 260th District Judge Buddie Hahn pronounced the sentence Wednesday afternoon to Eugene Quibodeaux.
Assistant District Attorney Tom Kelley said Quibodeaux pleaded guilty to the felony charge on December 4 and opted to have the judge give the punishment. Kelley said Quibodeaux had no previous convictions.
An Orange County grand jury indicted Quibodeaux in June. Kelley said Orange County Sheriff’s Investigator Lauren Kemp put the case together for prosecution. He said Kemp’s work led to the indictment and guilty plea.
