If a man and woman had been able to keep their sewage to themselves, they may have kept out of jail. Instead, they were arrested Saturday night for possession of a stolen recreational vehicle. The RV was reported stolen by U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Services out of Florida.
Orange Patrol Officer Byrun Perry said police were called to the Pilot Travel Center at 11:15 p.m. Saturday because people reported seeing sewage being illegally dumped from an RV.
Officer Perry said dispatch reported the RV had been reported stolen from Florida. He said the man said it was his mother-in-law’s RV and the woman said it belonged to her mother. Police reported the couple had no registration or insurance papers.
36-year-old John Haynes, who has a Florida driver’s license, and 50-year-old Tammy Bailey, who has a Kentucky driver’s license were arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and taken to the Orange County Jail.
A 52-year-old woman on Friday told police her 66-year-old husband hit her with their car after an argument that developed when they went to a liquor store to get cigarettes.
Officer Nicholas Medina with the Orange Police Department said the woman called at 12:51 p.m. Friday to a house in the 900 block of Seventh Street. She said the man had backed the car, pushed on the gas and a back side of the car hit her in the right hip. She said the impact knocked her four feet away.
The woman told the officer she and her husband had gone to get cigarettes at a liquor store. On the way home, they began arguing because he said she spent too much money.
After pulling into their driveway, he told her to get out of the car. She said she slammed the passenger door and as he was backing out, the side window, connected with adhesive, fell off. The man stopped, put the car in reverse and hit her. He then drove away.
No arrest was made.
