The Sabine River at Deweyville Tuesday morning went down slight amount to 24.9 feet, with flood level at 24 feet. The National Weather Service says the river could go down slightly more by Wednesday.
But the change may not last long. The Sabine River Authority on Monday twice increased the amount of water being released upstream at Toledo Bend Reservoir.
At 6 p.m. Monday, the authority had six gates open at four feet and three gates open at three feet. The number and level of gates remained open throughout Tuesday. Still, the reservoir continues to rise because of the rain in north Texas and north Louisiana.
