It was another dominating first half performance by the West Orange-Stark Mustangs as they defeated Wharton 47-15 to advance to the third round of the playoffs where they will face the Caldwell Hornets at 7pm on Friday at New Caney.
The Mustangs led 40-2 at the half, rolling up 347 yds of offense to just 84 for the Tigers. QB Jack Dallas threw four first half touchdowns, two to Thomas Wallace, and one each to KJ Miller and Keion Hancock. The Chain Gang defense also held the Tigers to 0-7 on third down conversions in the first two quarters. Jarron Morris picked off two Trey Woods passes and Justin Brown intercepted another.
Hancock also rushed for a score and Jeremiah Shaw (11-106) ran 38 yds for a score in the first quarter and a 13 yd TD for the only Mustang score in the second half.
For the game WOS had 482 yds of offense compared to 206 for Wharton.
Caldwell scored with a minute left to beat LaMarque 42-39. Running back Keyshawn Chambers rushed for 232 yds. on 17 carries.
The WOS (Visitors) vs. Caldwell, Regional Round Football game will be played on Friday, November 27th at 7:00pm at Texas Drive Stadium, New Caney, Tx. Tickets will ONLY be on sale in the WOS Athletic office on Monday, November 23rd from 9-12 and 1-3pm. Ticket prices are $6 for Adults and $4 for students. All tickets at the gate are $8.

As you pull into Texan Drive Stadium off Valley Ranch Parkway, you are entering on the Visitor/East side of the stadium where the Visitor/East box office is located.
Valley Ranch Parkway continues around the facility to the Home/West side of the stadium where the Home/West box office and Press Box are located.
