
Narcotics officers early Tuesday morning searched a Pinehurst house and arrested a man for having methamphetamine and a stolen shotgun. In addition, the officers found almost $2,000 in cash plus four more firearms.
Later that day, two more men were arrested at the same house on separate drug charges.
Orange Detective Captain Cliff Hargrave said 35-year-old Dwayne A. Vessel was arrested when the search warrant was executed at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday at 3512 Pheasant Street. Vessel has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and felon in possession of a firearm.
Officers confiscated one ounce of meth at the house along with the firearms and cash. Vessel posted bond and was released from the Orange County Jail about 10 Tuesday morning.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics division notified Orange police at 1 p.m. Tuesday that they had obtained two warrants to arrest Vessel on charges of delivery of a controlled substance in Louisiana.
Local officers went back to the house on Pheasant Street. Captain Hargrave said Vessel was in the front yard and he was arrested.
Police also found 35-year-old Terrence Budwine and 33-year-old Laurant Jefferson at the house. Police arrested Budwine after finding about seven grams of methamphetamine.
Jefferson was wanted on a warrant from the 260th State District Court in Orange for a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was also arrested at the house.
Other agencies working on the case include the Orange County Sheriff’s Office narcotics division, the Sulphur Police Department narcotics division and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
