The much anticipated Bridge City Splash Pad is open for fun after a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon. City Manager Jerry Jones said the splash pad is the culmination of a lot work at the city park. Jones added the attraction has been in the works for a few years and bond money this year made the $160,000 project possible. He concluded Bridge City is really pleased with it.
Representatives of the City Council, the Bridge City Chamber of Commerce, and a few eager kids ready to get splashed attended the ribbon cutting ceremony. Mayor Kirk Roccaforte officiated the grand opening of the splash pad and was excited that the citizens young and old will get to enjoy it at least a little bit this year. The mayor said it will be a popular addition to the City Park especially when the weather gets warmer.
The Bridge City Park and splash pad are located on Parkside Place off of West Roundbunch Road adjacent to the library and pavilion. The splash pad will be open free of charge daily from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM.
