Residents on Lark Street in Pinehurst will be seeing construction of new sewer lines in their neighborhood. Pinehurst City Administrator Robbie Hood said the contractors have been delivering equipment and pipes to Lark Street, and are expected to start construction Thursday, October 22. Hood indicated the contractors have 60 days to complete the pipe bursting and laying of new sewer lines. Once completed the residents on Lark will have improved sewer services and a repaved street. Hood commented that steps are being taken to assure the problem that occurred on Whippoorwill with potholes following sewer construction does not occur on Lark. He promised there will be city workers on the scene to make sure the contractors lay the asphalt properly for the repaving of Lark and that the city’s Van Willey Park is returned to good condition when the construction is done. The city administrator asked for patience from the citizens living on Lark Street during this time of construction. Pinehurst Alderman Mike Anderson lives on Lark Street and offered his property for parking of employees’ vehicles if the contractors need it.
