
George G. Fletcher, 75, of Hartburg, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at his residence. George was born on December 14, 1939 in Leesville, Louisiana to his parents, Orbin Connie Fletcher and Amanda (Shehane) Fletcher, he lived in Hartburg for the last 6 years, had lived for many years in Orange and he worked as a logger in the logging industry. George was of the Christian faith and he will be remembered by his family as being much of a character, working in the yard, working hard in all he did and he was very generous. George enjoyed eating sweets, spending time with his family and teasing his grandchildren.
George is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Nell Burnham and Roma Dixon and his brother, Irvin Fletcher. Those who will most treasure his memory are his wife of 57 years, Maxine Fletcher of Hartburg; his daughters, Becky Buranakitipinyo of Orange and Debbie Jones and husband, Tim of Kirbyville; his brothers, O. C. Fletcher and wife, Henrietta of Kirbyville, W. D. Dixon of Amarillo and Johnny Lee Mims and wife, Nancy of Spurger; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. George is also survived by nieces, nephews and members of his extended family.
Services to honor George’s life will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Tony Storey with the Family Worship Center Church in Orange. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow services at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange. A gathering of George’s family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the funeral home. Honoring George as pallbearers are Shaun Buranakitipinyo, Kevin Buranakitipinyo, Tim Fletcher, Buddy Perkins, Matthew Stites, John Stites and John Wright. Honorary pallbearer is Tim Jones.
