A U.S. Postal Service mail carrier had to call Orange police after he had a surprise in his mail truck. A woman police believe was on PCP got inside his truck as he put mail in the community boxes at the James Zay Roberts Apartments, 610 Burton Avenue. Orange Police Officer T.P. Pruitt reported that the 38-year-old woman was lying face down on the concrete next to the postal truck when he arrived. The woman cursed and was “preaching religious rhetoric.” He said some people may have described her as “speaking in tongues.”
Officer Pruitt said the mail carrier found the woman in the postal truck and couldn’t get her out. The mail carrier managed to get her cell phone and call 9-1-1. Police took the woman to the Baptist Emergency Room and then let her go home with her mother.
Two different people reported stolen electronics to Orange police on Tuesday. A man who lived with roommates at a house in the 1400 block of Hart Avenue told police Tuesday afternoon that someone had taken his smart phone, computer tablet and surround sound system, worth a total of about $2,700.
A resident living in the 200 block of Azalea Street called at 4:49 p.m. to report a burglary. The resident said a student living at the house returned home to discover that his laptop computer and X-Box game system were missing from his bedroom.
